Favourite winery in the valley, half a dozen oysters and a glass of bubbly overlooking 80 year old grape vines. It's small, rustic & the staff are excellent. Bought a couple of bottles of the Rose too.

Lancaster Wines, Swan Valley, Western Australia: If you’re a Lancaster wine fan like me, you’d be as excited as I am when you roll up the green lawn of the winery. Modest, knocked back several notched down the scale of swank, Lancaster is very humble, almost bordering on hippie. Tasting is done to a minuscule view of the vineyard. It’s a winery. Remember. If you’re a Portuguese verdelho fan, you might want to cart off bottles like I did. #eatstylishtravelstylish

Considering that some of the drinks ARE free, I won't complain about the amount. They give the just amount for one to decide whether to purchase a bottle or not. Only hoped there were some lighter snacks! Overall wine quality is pleasant

We had the pleasure of enjoying this family owned business as part of one of the d'Vine Wine Tour options. The set up was very nice, the day was beautiful, the host was very nice when pouring and discussing the tasting menus, plus it was a great start to our adventure. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the amount of flies/bugs that wouldn't leave us alone that day. If there was some way to ward them off a little better, that'd be sensational, however being outside and Australia, you can only do what you can do. Thank you for a great time!

Before I came to Australia, I read a lot of information about visiting Australian wineries and signing up for their wine tasting activities.

There are many wineries here, each with its own characteristics. I must say that it's a bit difficult to choose which one to visit at first. Fortunately, we followed our instincts and selected a few to visit.

The first winery we visited was Lancaster, chill and down-to-earth as they come, Lancaster serves up high-end wine from within the walls of an unassuming, rustic tin shed. The first thing that strikes you upon arrival at Lancaster’s famous outdoor tasting shed is just how picturesque this inviting venue is.
The staff introduced various red wines, white wines and dessert wines, allowing us to taste each one and choose the wine that suited us best.

They also explained which types of cheese could be paired with each wine to enhance their flavors. In the end, we chose Rosé and Ashe Blonde to embarked on my first Australian wine tasting adventure.

Went here to sample some wines with a tour group and had a great time. Our host gave us lots of information about the wines and also provided a cheese board for us to share, delicious.
