Opiniones de clientes

100 per cent recommend This is an OG Asian bakery that you should visit if you live local or are ever in the area.

They also do event catering.

I ordered a classic chocolate cake for our wedding reception dinner to serve approx. 130 guests.

I had left it to the last minute so placed the order a week ahead, was given advice by the owner/manager Maggie about flavour, size etc., and was very happy with the quality, look, taste and price.

It was a hit with all the guests

I also bought their famous pineapple buns while I was there and they did not disappoint.

I moved to Burwood almost a year ago. I have been here quite a few times and enjoy the buns, the pineapple coconut hybrid bun is a nice touch. The coffee bun is great.

However - the service from the woman is inconsistent. Most times she will charge you correctly. Sometimes she will round up, sometimes she will charge you for a plastic bag (I don't often get a plastic bag). I should stand up better for myself but am a bit awkward. But it shouldn't be up to me to monitor her behaviour.

Sometimes I get the feeling the service is slightly better if I converse in Cantonese.

If you want to raise the prices just raise the price. Don't stuff your customers around with what is supposed to be the easiest part of the process.

What a shame.

Never patronize this bakery anymore . We went there each week to buy their bread especially the chiffon cake . We threw away twice of the whole cake ! 1st time the taste was off for safety reason not to be given to my toddler & 2nd time I found out it was molded at the bottom cz the taste off again , Imagine my toddler ate it & what would happen ?!! We put it straight away to the fridge after we bought it . I suspected the cakes was few days old & they were left outside the whole day with the humid weather. The coconut tart was hard flavorless , I ate half way have to throw it away .The taro Swiss roll wasn’t great all I ate was lots of cream no taro taste. Polo bun was good if u eat it on the day they bake . The next day become mushy. Only egg tart was edible among all of all . Spent $40 & almost half of the bread ,we have to chuck it away !

Walking down the street and was surprised by traditional classic bakery shop. The bread has a classic Cantonese style and is noticeably bigger compared to others. The staff possibly the boss herself, was very friendly and took the time to introduce some of their delicious buns. Worth checking out for those who enjoy traditional baked.

Small bakery shop my friend told me as they have a freshly made durian bun.

Tried the Durian Bun $7 and Musang King Durian Roll $7

Freshly made : They make the Durian Bun filling when you order. (It’s not on the self-service shelves).

The base are ok. The durian filling has more cream than the durian imo. (Read: durian is not to my liking. I prefer the durian is more than the cream and I’d enjoy it more combined with some coffee.)

Note:
I haven’t tried any other items from this store.
The food picture was taken at home. They don’t offer any seating arrangements.

There are plenty of trendy Asian bakeries everywhere now, but I just love to go to old school Asian bakery like this 🥰! Maria’s Bakery Inn has been around for more than 30 years 😮 and they sell classics like egg tarts, pineapple buns, sponge rolls, puddings, pastries, as well as birthday cakes etc. There are mango & durian puddings, musang durian rolls and many flavours of cake rolls!

They accept cash & card (I believe there’s $10 minimum spend for card, otherwise there’s surcharge). Please support old school bakeries & small businesses like this 🙌

Best pineapple bun I've had, just like the ones in Hong Kong.

We stop by every time we're in the neighbourhood to grab a few traditional pineapple buns to take home, they're just so good. The coffee variety is also a favourite. The owner is so friendly and the prices are super reasonable. High quality pastries, highly recommended!
