I ordered some knives from here, and accidentally overpaid. They contacted me and offered a solution. Best customer service I have had in years. Quick responses, Maddie is great to deal with and the personalised knives went down a treat. Definitely recommend.

Initially prior to paying for a machine ordered the service was polite and efficient.That is where it stopped. Once you pay you are on your own. The item was sent through their ‘preferred’ courier TNT. It sat in Adelaide depot for 5 days because of the damage in transit. The courier repacked it, apparently without notifying MEFE, which I dispute and tried to re-deliver. I refused delivery due to potential damage and it was sent back to sender MEFE. I requested a refund as they could not supply a replacement machine for at least 6 weeks. As I had paid $95.00 delivery I offered to pay that for both sending and the return fee total $190.00
I was told $401.10 restocking fee take it or leave.
The owner of the company was rude and condescending. He shouted over the phone and was very intimidating.
The next day I received an email to say the machine was back on its way to me.
If their product is anything like their service, I will need to start shopping around for a replacement.
Be warned, shop elsewhere if you want a civilised transaction.

I'm down $140 because of this company!
Bought from their eBay store, parcel was lost so I raised it with them and eBay, they just sent them a different tracking number stating "the original one was wrong"! eBay said "since tracking was provided there's nothing they can do, the tracking company can't be reached so I asked MEFE for help!!!! They just told me "Since ebay have sold this item to you, it is advised that you further communicate with them" (Direct quote from their management) - So with no other action I can take I've lost $140, no knives and no other way to get help or my money back!!!!!! Stay Clear

EDIT: It's your ebay store from your own company! I supplied you with messages from eBay after I lodged a complaint and all you did was send them the tracking number and eBay closed the complaint saying "this was all they could do and all you needed to do" I even supplied you WITH proof of those emails

I rang and checked with sales staff that this mincing plate would fit my Reber #32 machine as advertised and was assured it would fit no problem.
I also purchased four other #32 plates from two other companies all of which fitted perfectly.
When the plate arrived from MEFE it definitely did not fit, I immediately drew this to the attention of the MEFE sales to which I received the unacceptable response they only just discovered this variation in sizing and suggested I engage an engineer to grind out the centre hole at my own expense!!!
After some back and forward I was offered to return the plate to them again at my own cost and with an extra charge of “RECTIFICATION ASSESSMENT” of $80 for which they already ‘kindly’ sent an invoice.
I don’t know what exactly they are planning to assess when the plate just simply doesn’t fit?
I am fortunate that the plate only cost $40 and I can buy one elsewhere but given my experience with this company I would warn future customers to think carefully about making a purchase especially for big ticket items if this is how the company handles what is a relatively small issue.
After reading other reviews with similar disappointing experiences it’s actually quite surprising that this company can continue to operate with such customer service.

We purchased a new MItchell hog dehairing machine for sows, model157-80 installed in October 2017. Upon receipt, the machine would not run due to wiring problem from factory, so after control wiring electrician re-wired control circuit, we began to use the machine. The machine would not turn the hogs to clean the hair, they just sat in one spot so it only cleaned one section on the side down on the machine. We had a local machine shop remove the cradle and lower pivot point about 5 inches so it would turn the pigs. I contacted Mitchell Engineering numerous times via e-mail and phone calls, but go no assistance on how much to lower the cradle. I have been trying to get specs on the machine so that I may order any parts needed, but can only get a generic operators manual. I am so disgusted with this company not answering e-mails or trying to stand behind their product, that I finally resorted to this review. It has been almost a year ago, and I cannot get any answers from them, so i have a $35,000.00 machine for which I dont know how to get repair parts. I would not recommend ever using this company again for our equipment needs.

Only giving this company one star because it will not let me post this if I don't, they deserve none. Purchased electronic immobilser from this company worked for a couple of days then didn't. Thought it was batteries so changed them still not working. Sent back to Mitchell's who claimed they tested it and was found to be working charged me postage to have it sent back. Received it in the mail still not working rang them to say it was working they got upset when I questioned their testing technique, clearly wasn't tested. Very disappointed in LACK of service . Don't buy from this company there is no come back on their products very very poor indeed.
