I've owned two Metabox gaming laptops. Bought my first one (M57TU) in 2008 and it STILL works in 2025! It understandably struggles a little these days. I upgraded to a new one in 2022 and it has been terrific. I've really enjoyed Metabox laptops because they're reliable, powerful, easily customisable and easy to maintain. The latter in particular is great - Metabox laptops are easy to open up and blow the dust out, an important feature for longevity.
Service is friendly and the purchase process is simple. And you're buying a product that has been assembled in Western Australia.
I highly recommend Metabox.

My laptop developed a major fault (see video) within 6 months of purchase and had to be sent in for repair which took about 3 weeks. I was annoyed to have to cover the cost of this shipping as it was clearly a fault of the manufacturer. Apart from this, I was happy with the price and specification of what I purchased. I would be hesitant to purchase another Metabox in the future.

I recently bought the Metabox Flo laptop. Highly recommend this company. They shipped next day as promised, the laptop was packaged very safe and secure. It shows that they take a lot of pride in their products. I chose the "no operating system" option so I could install Linux Mint myself - the installation went flawlessly and it worked out of the box. The Flo itself is an amazing machine - it's a very thin, lightweight laptop. The battery on it seems to last forever! I would not hesitate to recommend Metabox, or the Flo laptop.

Amazing, Great Quality

I bought from the AlphaX series (Metabox Alpha-X NH58DE). The price is great for performance. Totally worth it. Great cooling system. Almost never gets hot even on high graphics. I have not encountered any problems at all.
I also called their number for advice. The woman on the phone gave me good advice. She seemed very knowledgeable.

It was mostly easy to navigate the online store. It would have been nice if they had an offline store at Perth though. When I did a local pickup of my laptop in Perth. The place looked real sketchy and unclear where the actual pickup point was. They could definitely invest more into a physical location.

The laptops here are pretty good, I don't have any complaints with the build quality. It's all plastic, but perfectly fit for purpose – obviously, you get what you pay for.

A few days ago, I had an issue with the keyboard, so I took it to their office and they got the laptop back to me with a new keyboard in 2 days. Very quick service, no wait time etc.

I decided to make the leap and purchase a custom laptop from Metabox just before the end of the financial year. Having used Lenovo for years, I was excited about the opportunity to tweak a few more specs from other brands, and the pricing was indeed attractive. However, my excitement was short-lived once the laptop arrived.

While the laptop was well-packaged, I quickly noticed that the plastic bottom bezel was not installed correctly. This was a major disappointment right out of the box. My first step was to contact Metabox support. They advised me to either declare it as a dead-on-arrival (DOA) unit or attempt to repair the unit myself using guides provided by their tech support.

Given that the DOA process would take another 3-5 days, I reluctantly opted to try and fix it myself. Following their instructions, I managed to disassemble and re-seat the housing correctly, but it was a time-consuming. This was not the experience I expected from a new purchase, especially one that was supposed to be an upgrade.

I feel that for an Australian Company, more could've been offered and expedited to render my experience.
