I'd been frothing over a Norweld tray since 2016 when I saw my first episode of a popular 4x4 show on YouTube. In 2019 I got my first tray in the US by way of an importer. I absolutely loved that thing, it was a deluxe weekender and I put it on my 2018 Tundra. I loved it so much that I had to have the bedsides and 2 pack paint, which I was able to get with my second tray in 2021. The craftsmanship is impeccable. I've used and abused this new tray in nearly every possible way and every environment, and I can honestly tell you it will easily outlast my truck. Lucky for me I'll take the tray and put it on the next truck when that time does come. Thankfully their customer service is legendary, and although I had an issue back in 2019 with my filler neck, Isaac and his team got straight to it and sent me out the fix within a few weeks. These guys are legends in my book.

I have had the canopy for almost 1 year. Bought in Cairns and fitted in Sydney. A seamless process. The canopy is excellent. I hear that the after sales service is second to none. I have not had to experience it. That speaks volumes about the product.

So i've been a customer of Norweld for a fair few years now and probably would have championed them against nay-sayers. But after today my vision has been shattered and i'm left speechless!

My boat is 18 months old and unfortunately developed some weld cracks and because the manufacturer changed hands I was left without any of the 5 year warranty and went to Norweld to pay for some repairs.

I asked for extra bracing to be put into the welds but the welder advised he thinks the original welds were just bad and a "re do" is all that was needed. Needless to say the welds broke again and the boat was back for repairs after a few fishing trips.

Acknowledging the error first time around Norweld agreed to fix the boat again as per my original request free of charge to the specifications I initial suggested (which the manager agreed was the correct course of action in the first place)

So after assuming the boat was fixed after picking it up the second time I went to sea only to find it fill with water again! Alas they missed one somehow, even though I had a pink circle painted around it on the outside of the boat so it was impossible to not notice. I also advised the people in person to the issue with this particular weld and pointed it out.

So back for a third attempt at repairs and this repair was beyond a joke. I immediately questioned the repair upon seeing it on my arrival at which point the welder was brought out and explained why it was done this way.
Unsatisfied with the answer I took it for not one but two second opinions on the way home and both were in disbelief at the workmanship. A lump of weld was just dumped on the outside of the boat to cover it but nothing done on the inside. The crack is still visible through the weld as plain as day. There is also a burn mark on the inside and you can see the metal is half burnt through.

So once again my distrust in others doing work for me is re-affirmed and i'm left to fix the issue myself with my mediocre welding skills which I should have done in the first place and saved myself a fair bit of money! But seeing the quality of the weld on this attempt I doubt I could do a worse job.

I only took the boat for a "professional" fix the first time around because this is a huge safety issue and didn't want to risk my life on my unprofessional welds as a boat filling with water is never safe. But after this weld was missed and only finding out while 80 kilometers from land my faith was misplaced.

In summary I am so disappointed. They have done some great work for me in the past, but 3 attempts at a fix and even spray painting in bright pink paint on the second attempt to highlight the crack , it still didn't get my issue fixed. I was often there buying scrap aluminium for welding/lathe projects for my friends and neighbors but after this I can't see myself returning.

Sorry guys, I tried to be so patient and I feel really let down right now!
