I came to Brad at Overland Engineering because I had an existing canopy, but was seriously overweight and was not going to be able to tow my van of choice. I eliminated most of the other quality canopy manufacturers because they were not interested in solving my problems, but just to sell a quality canopy with their available options. Brad gave me options to solve every one of my problems, with a well thought out solution. He also offered me alternatives which I hadn't thought about, and took the time to explain the pro's and the con's. The amount of pre-sales support was extensive in informing me, to something no one else had offered along the way. He was committed to providing me the canopy solution that was exactly what I wanted - do it once and do it right was something he said more than once. It becomes very apparent that Brad is not just there for the quick sale.

Brad is a one man band which means that you are working with the guy who designed the canopy, and can make additional changes to suit. Added to that, he is not just a tradesman, but a craftsman. Every part of the solution was built to perfection.

In the process from old to new, I went from a tray and canopy (alloy) to a chassis mounted canopy, Instead of 2.5 mm aluminium it is now 3mm making it much sturdier. Even so, I am now 220kg lighter on my rear axle.

There were a couple of delays in the build process, and also a couple of warranty pieces to work through. Brad was on the front foot every time to not just advise of delay, but why(usually supplier induced). The warranty piece was not on his work, but on one of the door hinges - he uses nothing but the best ($300 a pair, not just cheap piano hinge), so this was very unexpected to him and the supplier. It is the measure of the company, and of the man, in how they respond to issues - and Brad was a joy to deal with, and stood by his word no matter what.

Note: I have also included two photos of the (unfinished) electrical fitout which was done by my son and I after the fact - but shows the amazing amount of space available on the front wall, and the panel which we've mounted outlets on. The panel comes off easily and if you need more room, we've connected the fridge on a long lead, so four screws and out it comes and sits in the back seat while you work (with beers still cold when you're complete!)

Very happy with the final product. The attention to detail and quality workmanship that goes into these products is held to a very high standard. The fine details and finish of the back and edges with a bit of shape sets these canopies apart from the mass produced units. Brad was happy to work with me to make changes to my canopy to suit the aesthetic and needs I was after and brought my vision into reality.
I opted to fit my tray and canopy myself, the process was quite involved but if you have some common sense and tools it is manageable. Brad was happy to talk me through the process when I got a bit stuck and his communication throughout the building process was outstanding, keeping me in the loop every step of the way.
