Catching the Palm Beach Wharf Ferry is easy and fun but best to leave the car at home as parking is limited. There is a school holiday, public holiday and weekend extended timetable but best to check online. The Merinda II is a great little ferry built in 1983 in Brisbane and a popular boat in these waterways, you can even book her for special events.

Very scenic and picturesque. Nice place to catch the sunset going down over the mountains/hills across from the water that creates a lovely reflection on the ocean whilst painting the sky with amazing colours. Is very peaceful when no ferries are around.

Parking fees are outrageous, $8/h or $40/24h but limited to 8h (8P), so the 24h is misleading.
Park along Barrenjoey road and don't pay these gougers.

Palm Beach/Ettalong Ferry Service us wonderful....efficient, friendly and punctual. The views are stunning. However, once at Palm Beach you had better not expect much service in terms of options to eat. Barrenjoey House opens when it feels like and has been closed entirely for private functions when i have been there and too bad if you want coffee before 11.30 a.m. !! There is a very ordinary Take Away kiosk near the wharf that had teenagers running it who didnt know how to make a toasted sandwich ! Go for the views and for the beautiful trip to The Basin and Mackerel Beach. Do not expect service in Palm Beach and you wont be dissapointed !! For an expensive and famous place they do not do themselves any favours by this lack of tourist service .
