Wonderful experience at an excellent shop.

I went with my mum to this shop a few days ago with her bike from the 1980s which was damaged. Nick was able to identify the issues and recommend fixes. He was honest, transparent and his expertise was apparent.
Fast forward less than a week and what we thought could be a challenging and daunting repair was done with skill, care and professionalism. My mum now has her bike back with some noticeable upgrades!
Thank you to the magnificent team at Pedal Patch Bikes for their wonderful service! Highly recommend checking out the store. You have two new customers who will definitely be returning!

Came in to buy daughter (6) her first bike. Service was great, helpful, fast and appreciated having a store like this locally. Support small businesses in our community ! Recommend coming here if you’re after a quality bike.

Admittedly reading some of the negative reviews on here prior to going did put me off a bit, but thought I would check it out anyway and happy I did.

The guy in here is nice and i can see that he is a professional guy. He charged me 30 bucks for fixing my bike, and i thing this is a good price fo r it. Good conversation with him about history and Persia and revolution. Good on him. If something happed again on my bike i would come back here and recommend to my mates as well

Please don't crap about my bar tap being thin and uncomfortable then trying to upsell me. 12 bucks for a single cable shifter is expensive.

I found Pedal Patch on google, I needed a tube and tyre for my son's bmx. Walked into this shop plenty of parking outside and side street. Was approached by the owner who I spoke to beforehand. Very friendly and knowledgeable person who explained to me the different types of brand tyres he had. We choose the maxxis and my son wanted pegs as well. His young son come over and was talking to my son about pegs and what he had on his bmx. customer service A+++.
What really suprised me is I was only planning to buy I tube and one tyre so I only took $100 cash. Ended up with 2 tyres tube and pegs. The total bill was $120. I offered to transfer the $20 but the owner has trust in people and told me just come back on Monday. I walked back to my car and found $20 in change and paid the bloke really impressed by this local small business and will definitely go there again.

I only write reviews here for 2 reasons, if someone has given me amazing service or they've really failed at it... This is one of those services... Please read so you can make that decision not to go near to this place for Ur bicycle needs (excuse the length)
Been going to this place a few times & everytime I was there I dealt with the mechanic who was courteous honest & fair which lead me to think awesome I will be a regular here for all my bicycle needs until I met with "Nick" (owner) this is my warning to whomever decides to go there to avoid this place at all costs.

I went a few days ago complaining of a rear tyre put on my bike by them that was to thin & uncomfortable therefore figured that was my choice so I spoke to Nick about putting on a "wider tyre" after making a choice I also said that the bike was making a clicking/screeching noise as I peddled & figured that it was possibly the Axel or bearings that were doing this or it just needed a basic tune up (grease/oil tighten the brakes/bolts etc) therefore Nick suggested a tune up & that hel also look at this "Possible problem"
So iv was given a price for the tyre & tune up & here's where the typical "mechanic/sales person" came outta him, he suggested that it could be busted up all on the insides etc & is gonna cost more to fix etc I asked how much more & he added to it (mind u I ride my bike everyday) & it was still very rideable and gave me another rough figure I then said that it was a little pricey to do all 3 tyre/tune up/fix the insides and pretty much coulda bought a brand new low level bike from Ur major retail stores for that price but proceeded to go ahead with it despite that.
I left the bike with them & got a call the next day saying it's been looked at and (in typical mechanic/salesperson fashion) it needs to be changed, he suggested a whole brand new rim & said hel have to call me back to see if he has one so I went with it, called back & said yes we have one. First thing I asked was "how much" he literally doubled the figure already given to me & by now it was literally a figure that coulda bought me 2 low level bikes from a major retailer so I said no thx I will stick to the tune up/tyre change, he started to get angry & saying it's been disassembled etc etc & there was no other way, I responded by saying I brang my bike in rideable and expect it to be rideable when I come back & to just stick to the tune/up wider tyre.
Upon my return to the store the rear tyre was put on in a real loose fashion and was dangerous to ride by now & just to make things worse he put on the same thin tyre explaining to me now that all of a sudden the thicker one wouldn't fit (when he first said it would) & that if I wanted another wider one it would cost more (he's all about making money)

We both took it for a test run outside(him first) & it jumped gears & clicked still & likewise on my turn By this time I figured there's no point in arguing with this guy just take my bike with the current unstable/wrong new tyre & go home
I got home & literally using a spoon changed my tyres around lining up the rims tightening things & literally got the bike back to good shape having saved myself literally hundreds of dollars from that place
I heard from people in the area that this guy was pricey etc but chose to ignore them and gave him the benefit of the doubt, that coupled with very bad customer service (not listening to the customers needs) I guess they were right.

I've made the decision to write this lengthy true story (sorry for the length).
I would urge to see for yourself how this place operates & if you feel the same experiences as me steer clear of this place & seek another honest "bike place" that puts the customers needs as first priority!!!!
