I had done 2 acting showreel courses with Perth Film School roughly 3 years ago, and although I didn’t pursue anything further back then, I never stopped thinking about it.
Then I got a phone call from Matthew (PFS) last month in September, 3 days before their self-tape masterclass was going to commence on the 14th & 15th of September, facilitated by Jaimee who is a lovely and friendly lady and taught by David Newman (Sydney’s biggest casting director).
I was told there was one spot left in the class, I was so excited so I took the opportunity straight away.
The masterclass was brilliant, David has a great style of teaching, he’s easy going, humorous, had so much wisdom & knowledge to share and made everyone very comfortable, I could see how much the other students loved the class too. I loved watching all the performances and had a great time performing as well. There were plenty of laughs!
I’m still feeling so uplifted from this class and it has really ignited my passion for acting even more.
Last night I received a phone call from Nicole (founder of PFS) to check how things went with the masterclass and she also gave me wonderful feedback from both David & Jaimee, which made me SO happy and I really appreciated Nicole telling me herself.
This review is quite lengthy, but I wanted to share just how wonderful the whole experience has been and how happy it has made me.

So a very BIG thank you to Nicole and the team at Perth Film School. You go above and beyond for your students and have only motivated me to keep going and pursue my passions further.

Loved doing the sound recording for showreels. It’s not very often you get the opportunity to work with a female director and a female cinematographer! The scenes the actors brought to life were breathtakingly strong, and will be very valuable to their acting careers I’m sure 🌟

I can definitely recommend Perth Film School! I had very little past exposure to acting and followed the screen acting courses (level 1, 2 & 3), that taught me lots of relevant knowledge. The teachers, as well as the small-sized classes, made me feel safe and comfortable from the start. The classes also helped improving my confidence and made me realize I was capable of much more than I thought I was. I am very happy that I got to explore my passion for screen acting and I look forward to gaining more experience and exploring new opportunities in the field!

So far I’ve only done level 1 screen acting and a masterclass with a Gregory apps. All I can say is that everything I’ve done in Perth school has ignited my passion for acting. The course was really beginner friendly with moments that challenged my creativity in all the right ways and the teacher (Kim) directed us pulling our best version of our character to light.
The masterclass with Greg was absolutely brilliant. He was really approachable and happy to provide all the help we need. everyone at Perth film school elevated that experience. I really can’t wait to start the Hollywood package next month!!!

I have nothing but good things to say about this school, i spent the summer taking classes here, where i had the opportunity to develop my showreel, from the moment I joined i felt i was in an encouraging environment and had space to really grow and learn so much. I felt they genuinely cared about each individuals growth and i really had the chance to be pushed and challenged. The class size was small which i felt really allowed for each of the students to get personalized attention and feedback which i really appreciated. I ended the summer with a professionally shot and edited scene to add to my showreel which was amazing !

It has been my Honour to attend the workshop with Mr Greg Apps @ Perth Film School. Very warm reception by the team and great facility run by the amazing team of creatives.
Energy was spilled everywhere, no-one was holding back, room was full of diverse talent in age and backgrounds.
Mr Greg Apps, industry veteran with nothing to loose, has proven his genius many times over, was not there to impress anyone, rather to guide us and tell the truth, sharp as a Swiss knife, type of character that you do not forget, strong, straight to the point, intense at the times, inspirational, caring in his approach for every single student regardless of the experience level or status.
It was one workshop that truly was honest to the core, valuable, unpacking bags full of tricks, wisdom and fun !
