Had my Prado with these guys for some major work. Pete and crew were awesome to deal with and no surprises. Reasonably priced and kept me fully informed. I would definitely recommend this company for further work.

I had high expectations based on the reviews, but my experience has been nothing but frustrating. I had to make multiple additional trips (45 minutes each way) because the installation wasn’t done correctly the first time or not at all yet never passed message onto me. Each time, I was either told the item wasn’t ready or, even worse, the staff had no idea about my booking or what work was supposed to be done. There was a complete lack of communication within their team, leaving me feeling like my time was completely wasted.

When I finally got there, instead of taking responsibility, the staff shifted blame, claiming that what I was saying didn’t match what their team had noted—if they had even noted anything at all. As a customer, I know exactly what I requested/said and how it should have been positioned, yet I was made to feel like I was in the wrong.

To make matters worse, after all the delays and confusion, I was asked to pay extra—despite already paying a premium—because they either failed to document things properly or simply made mistakes they didn’t want to own up to.

Extremely disappointed. If this is how they operate, I won’t be returning, and I certainly won’t be recommending them to anyone.

Called over a week ago and asked for a quote for putting a new Apple play system in my prado, I have been to this mechanic before. I was told they would get back to me within 3 days….Guess they don’t want my money? Great customer service👍🏼
I’ll go with someone more customer focused. Forget future services too, after my first one you can get the same for cheaper at other mechanics.

Make sure you request details of exactly what it is Powertune are putting in your vehicle. I had my stock Clutch replaced with a heavy duty one back in 2022. Now looking at getting a some work done to the motor of my Hilux to keep up with towing demands etc, I asked Powertune to provide details of what clutch they put in it as they didn't specify on the invoice. When I requested the clutch I made it clear that I wanted it to accommodate any performance upgrades I do to Ute later down the track, turns out it was a Drive tech rated to 440Nm (Stock is approx 343Nm).
The shop confirmed that they frequently use Drive tech when supplying customers heavy duty clutches. Given that I paid over $2.5k for the clutch at the time I figured it would be a solid setup (Rookie error). I've been given the "Sorry mate given it was so long ago, there's nothing I can do for you" and am faced with now having to buy another clutch ($2k - $3k) that will actually do the job its intended for. (handle torque and strain)
I hope Someone out there can read this review and learn from my mistake (not specifying exactly what brand I want when asking for a heavy duty Clutch) and hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Brought my car in with a number of problems to be fixed and they fixed it all within a couple of days, a few things I wasn’t prepared for at the time but needed to be done, excellent customer service and very good prices would definitely recommend. Thank you Powertune 4x4!.

Couldn't be more disappointed & frustrated by this companys qualityof work & workmanship.

Trusted them with installation of new rotators & a rear main seal on my BT-50

Within months of installation rotators failed.
They installation a new set under warranty few months later again they failed.. 2 rotators within 12 months 😮‍💨

Rear main seal is leaking as if it was never repaired & gear box had a leak due to their staff not doing bolts up correctly.

I have taken the vehicle to 3 other mechanics to find out the report done on my vehicle was invalid & likely the company's way of passing the problem off as to not take any responsibility for repairs..

I would strongly recommend looking else were if you need work done to your vehicle.
Sadly these guys where one of the high prices so I assumed quality work.

I had recently taken my px1 ranger to these guys and I must say Luke and the team their were very helpful and knowledgeable aswell as understanding when it came to doing some upgrades and mods on the vehicle. They were honest and upfront with everything and they also helped me by doing their best to keep the prices down especially when it came to other extras while components were off the vehicle and access was there to do those extras minus the labour costs. I would highly recommend them and now I will also take the ranger there for regular servicing and other stuff that I would like done in the future. The communication was A1...Thanks team I really appreciate what you guys have done for me

Huge Thank you to the team at Powertune. They accommodate my tight schedule and did a excellent job with my BA XR6T. They even stayed after hours to make sure the car was working better then new. Highly recommended guys and girls. Will definitely be back 🤣🤣 sorry 😅
