Dear Peninsula,

We had one more day left for checkout, but after that pathetic excuse of a call and your disgraceful message, we packed up and walked out — not because we had to, but because staying another second in your miserable dump wasn’t worth it.

This is, without question, the worst “hotel” I’ve ever had the misfortune of booking. And frankly, I’m stunned anyone let you operate this garbage setup in a residential area. Who the hell approved this mess? You’re running a third-rate disaster disguised as accommodation.

I booked this joke of a place to celebrate a milestone my 10th wedding anniversary with my family and kids. Instead of peace, we got passive-aggressive nonsense and a hotel that practically screams “children not welcome,” even though you didn’t have the guts to say that upfront. Maybe include a note on Booking.com: “No kids. No joy. Just silence and suffering in a paper-thin shack.”

You think families with kids should float around like ghosts? Your building is so cheaply made, even walking feels like setting off a tremor. The walls are trash, the floors are worse, and every step sounds like a demolition site.

And to the absolute genius who made that call — lose the fake politeness. That fake customer service act doesn’t cover up your attitude. Don’t smile while you’re shoving people out — it’s not helpful, it’s insulting. You’re not a professional. You’re a clown running a circus no one asked for.

Sort your mess out before someone else walks out and writes what you really deserve to read.

We drove all the way from Sydney, with kids, hoping to enjoy a peaceful getaway to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Instead, we were greeted with passive-aggressive staff, a zero-tolerance attitude toward families, and a building that shakes like it’s about to collapse if you so much as blink too hard.

Let me be brutally clear: if you’re planning to book this hotel and you have kids, I strongly, STRONGLY advise you to stay far away. This place is not family-friendly — it’s barely people-friendly. And the worst part? They won’t tell you upfront. No, they’ll wait until you’re settled in, then start making you feel like an inconvenience for simply existing.

We stayed here just for the night in between going to the Theme Parks For us it was a perfect spot as only 12mins away from Dreamworld and we used it purely to sleep as we were out for big days at the parks! Was a lovely apartment and nice and clean, a few areas such as shower door inset etx could do with a scrub but for the most part was cleaned well Great as had 2 ensuites for the 2 rooms and a carpark It is in Hope Island which has its own set of shops but def need a car to access things Will be back thabk you!

It’s funny how booking.com takes the only positive comment from my review annd uses that and edits the rest out! Our apartment was filthy - like the bed had been changed but nothing else cleaned. Faeces still in the toilet, kids food smears all over windows and furniture, couch full of crumbs, stove splattered with fat, mould in the shower. It’s the kind of place where you wash the kitchenware before you use it. I felt dirty being there. Disgusting.

We had 6 nights stay at residences at the peninsula in 3 bedroom apartment for 6 people. They have provided one towel for each of us for 6 days. Two small shampoos and two small shower gels for 5 days for 6 people ( 5 adults and 1 child)and two small sachet of laundry detergent powder.
Cutlery was very basic, no paper towel and no dish washing scrubbing 🧽
Please take a scissors with you too if you want to open the dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent powder sachet.

The 3 bedroom apartment was good. The rules and information were poorly written. The drive to get to the apartment was long..
But the place is central to the gold coast and other tourist attractions and there's a shopping centre and pub right next door... that are easier to walk to than drive.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! We had the unfortunate experience of staying here for 1 night. It was supposed to be 4 but we cancelled the rest. This place was dirty beyond belief - popcorn in the microwave and on the floor from the last people, empty beer cans with cigarette butts on the balcony, the sofa cover was covered in food stains and marks, fingerprints all over the kitchen cabinets, broken toaster, no bulbs in the bedside light, marks and holes in the walls, etc. The main toilet smelt strongly of sewrage to the point of it being smelt across the entire top floor. THIS PLACE IS FOUL. Still waiting for a refund.

I will not be staying at this place again.
We booked a stay at the residences at the peninsula and rock up at the gracemere gates. We had no prior information and couldn’t even get into the residence. Security said it wasn’t any of their business and we even were declined in ringing the place. They eventually rang back and the lady barely understood that we did not have a car and couldn’t get in. We were lucky enough the side gate hadn’t been locked properly and could get in but that was completely without her help.
We get to the place and we are met with a $200 deposit. Supposedly we should’ve known about the deposit but nope. Saying they sent an email about it but then in contradiction. told me they didn’t have any of our information…? I got annoyed at the lack of professionalism in helping us get into the building and understanding why we hadn’t been told anything. Not a word about getting there…
Now to the room. The room was spacious yes but was a mere sweep clean. Opened the dishwasher to old dishes that have been there for who knows how long as we put it through the wash 4 times and the grime did not come off. A disgusting red snot looking smere on a lightbulb. Dust everywhere, a broken tv remote, hair in strange places and uncleaned stove tops. (Some of it was just long use scratches and burns but this should be at least scrubbed…)
The curtains were blockout but it was pure light in each side of curtains making it feel like 8am at 5. The noisiness of the road next door also was terrible to sleep through.

Never again.

Did not get what we paid for or expected ( we actually stayed here 6years ago and must have been freshly built, because it’s not nearly the same quality it was then.
Very disappointing stay this time, strong smell of mould ,TV not working, room not cleaned properly (obvious simple things like laundry powder over the floor, handprints all over the mirrors and toothpastes spray on wall)

For supposedly being a 4 star nothing hotel it is more of a tidy backpackers,it hasn’t been updated or refreshed since the day it was built, all fixture like towel rack, toilet roll holder soap holder, cupboard doors, toilet seat are either bent, twisted or simply not shut properly.
Stains all over the curtains, fake leather lounge just starting to peel away, fake marble wrap covering dining table peeling up and partially ripped off, dust on everything, dirty scuff marks or chips and dints on every wall fridge needs a lot of love to be able to claim 4 stars

( I could of taken another 20 plus photos but we’re running late)
