Did the 2 day knife course with my Dad for father’s day, we both thoroughly enjoyed the creative process. Under Shane’s supervision we combined quality stainless steel, resin, liners, brass pins and a bit of artistic flair to create a long lasting, fit for purpose blade.
Plenty of knowledge was shared including heat treatment, tool selection, shaping technique, brands of supplies, and making your consumables last. Came away with a couple of spare bits and pieces for some future projects and a one of a kind every day kitchen essential.

Shane is extremely knowledgeable and provided an unforgettable experience, taking us through all the steps and ensuring we were comfortable the whole way through. The speed of learning was perfect and an incredible hands on experience. Never thought I would enjoy something like this, or be able to do it! Great day doing the Japanese knife making, well balanced between theory and practical where you make your knife and learn some new skills. Great gesture by owner by gifting a knife sharpener to a lad who turned 15 on the day. Highly recommend

The Beginner Blacksmith Blade Class was excellent! The teaching was engaging and professional, moving swiftly through the steps and allowing for plenty of hands on experience. The result was an awesome hand forged blade that exceeded expectations. Trust the process! Highly recommend.
