Shop owner contacted me via Facebook marketplace to purchase a mid century dining table and chairs offering $200 less than it was listed at, which I accepted. He wanted to send a courier to collect the set from my home late one evening which I couldn’t meet, I couldn’t get home in time. He asked for me to deliever the set to his shop the next day, which wasn’t an option. We mutully agreed he wouldn’t buy the set and it was purchased locally a few days later. Alex then left me a rubbish marketplace review which was completely unnecessary. Not a great way to conduct any type of business

Price gauging and lies a plenty.

Purchased a couple items here. One being a picture, the owner stated "oh its made by a very well known artist" then flips the image over to see who the artist is and then continues to say "oh its anonymous"

Doesn't seem to know the stock they're bringing in.

Also on a previous occasion had told us that they barely mark their stock up and that "you don't see us driving around in fancy cars" as an indicator that they barely mark their product up, yet was offering us 50% off on an item shortly after?

They also told us that an item we purchased was made by the original designer of this style, which convinced us to pay the ridiculous price tag, but once we returned home a quick Google showed us the exact item on sale for about 30% of the cost, and another quick Google showed us that the designer of this particular item was not even the original designer of the style!

For

Would avoid at all costs, although the owner was never outwardly rude to us, I definitely saw notes of what these other reviews are stating.

Lesson learnt, hope they learn theirs soon.

We have been here a couple of times and have purchased a couple of pieces. However, after the third visit we won’t be returning due to the condescending attitude of the owner. As we left, he asked if we were looking for anything and we just said we were just looking to which he replied “Yeah, that’s all you do, is look” Considering we had bought things on our first visit it’s a pretty poor response. With that sort of customer service you’re not going to get many repeat customers.

With regard to your reply, actually there is such a person and I'm guessing its you. This is definitely not spam. Just because it's not a positive review doesn't mean its not true.

I went here today. I love looking through second hand shops and buying things from my childhood. This shop certainly has a lot of quality product. I have purchased some furniture and trinkets in the past but I think it has changed hands and is under new management now. Though I cant be certain.

But my experience was not good and I will never go back for two reasons:

firstly, the items are mostly in good condition, not all pristine, but acceptable. The prices however are stratospheric. The highest I have ever seen - one product in particular typically goes for about $120 depending on condition, their price was $450... which is patently absurd given its condition. I have one at home and it looks as good as the day my father bought it back in the early 60's. The few pristine items that were there were eye wateringly expensive. I feel I can say this because I am an avid collector of all things vintage. Money is not the issue, but value is. You will get no value for your money here, so it is to be avoided in my opinion.

Secondly, the person who served me, who I assume is the owner based on how he spoke, was not very friendly and he especially turned nasty when I asked if he bought second hand gear. His demeanor changed immediately to one of arrogance and superiority. Worse than a car salesman. It was as if I had asked for his firstborn. It was just a casual question, it was not even the reason I went into his store. Almost immediately after telling me he was not interested, because he only purchased 60's stuff, I told him that's what I actually had. He then asked for specifics and before I had finished my sentence, he snapped and said again he was not interested in a most condescending manner.

So I said thankyou, have a nice day and I left...

I have had businesses in the past myself and its always a bad idea to talk down to your customers. I can only imagine what the after sales service must be like given his service prior to a purchase.

The best place in Perth to buy antique, mid-century and art deco furniture. All at very fair prices, too. The gentlemen who work here are incredibly helpful and kind. Sometimes visit with a coffee in hand just to have a browse and a good chat!

I don’t recommend purchasing vinyl from here, records are mostly scratched up or in poor condition yet charging top dollar for them. Has a lot of other great stuff though just what I noticed
