I stayed at the Anchorage 25/10/24 -27/10/24
It was very disappointing it’s no longer at a standard that I expect it’s overrated for what you get it is definitely not value for money. Although the breakfast is still good and the staff in the breakfast area are friendly and accommodating. The reception staff are rude and dismissive. Also do not leave any valuables in your room they are not safe.
I have stayed at the Anchorage multiple times but this is definitely my last. I did leave an $80 bottle of wine in the fridge but did not bother to call the resort because it was my fault for accidentally leaving it but the resort did not contact me either. This time I accidentally left my Apple phone charger, when I arrived home I contacted the resort and spoke to the service desk at 4pm whom informed me that the cleaning staff had left for the day and she would not contact the new guests. She also told me that I would be contacted the following day regarding this issue. I was never contacted and when I contacted the resort the manager said that the room was checked and he could not help me . I am going overseas next week and it’s the principal of the issue obviously there motto is finders keepers.
I do agree that I should have checked that I had all my belongings on departure but the manager and reception desk service staff have a care factor of zero.
This resort is definitely not value for money and sadly cannot recommend it.
Thanks
Wendy

The warmest welcome to gorgeous accommodation in a breathtaking location.
Buffet breakfast was the best we’ve ever experienced. Staff were delightful with our busy little girls.
We were a little obsessed with the electric curtains! Such theatre.
Comfortable, luxurious, delicious, generous and friendly. Better than many 5 star hotels. Loved it all!

Found the anchorage online when looking for breakfast locations on my weekend getaway to Port Stephen’s.
Booked in over a month in advance for breakfast at the anchorage. All good.
When I got there I was turned away, they could not find my booking, were full and do not take outside guests on weekends (I was not staying there) they also don’t know how I was able to book online (I tried it again afterwards and yes anyone can book online for any available time)
They did offer to wait and see but couldn’t guarantee anything. Found that humiliating. We did not stay.
They need to fix this up so they don’t turn away families with hungry kids in future.
Edit: booking confirmation/ reminder email received after we left. Photo attached.
Why send that at the time of our booking?

This was our second visit to this charming property by the marina. It offers a relaxing atmosphere, with a pool that overlooks the marina and the beach on the opposite side. Our room was spacious, with a lovely marina view.
Moby’s Bar is wonderfully cosy with beautiful scenery. The breakfast buffet at the Galley Kitchen was excellent.
The Lucca Spa offered a very relaxing experience, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to both couples & families. We look forward to returning.

Following zero contact from the bookings team as promised by staff at the venue, I am leaving this review with the hope SOMEONE from administration can get into contact with us, before we are forced to take this complaint further.
We booked a stay with the Anchorage in June this year for Sunday 27th October. After booking online we contacted them to let them know we had a gift voucher we would like to use towards the cost of our package. A staff member asked for the voucher code, told us she would attach this to our booking and ensured everything was good to go. Three days before our stay I was charged the full amount to my credit card. I called up to question the charge and remind them of our voucher. I was told by Nadine that as we had not notified the Anchorage of our voucher, it would have to be used for another stay or incidentals. When I assured her I had notified them, I was told they had no record of this conversation, it was insinuated I was making this phone call up and as such the voucher would not be honoured towards the package.
We discussed this matter with Laxman, once arriving at the Anchorage and were told to send an email to them, which would be passed onto bookings and we would receive a call the following day. We have since had two ignored emails, and no contact from the staff at the Anchorage.
Our friends and families have been repeat guests at the Anchorage for many years and it is incredibly disappointing that the Anchorage consider it acceptable to show such blatant disrespect, ignore our requests for discussion, and disadvantage us due to the incompetence of their own staff.

The hotel has the most comfortable luxurious bed and pillows. A beautiful relaxed atmosphere throughout where nothing is too much trouble by the staff. Galley breakfast one of the best we have experienced..excellent choice of foods and condiments.

Unfortunately this place is very disappointing.
We arrived and got a room assigned which smelled very strong about paint. The reception had no idea about any maintenance work assigned us to an other room. The second room smelled moldy due to the water damage and was not clean at all. The filter above the entrance wasn’t cleaned for a long time and the chair was very dirty. All things which are visible.
The team came again to clean the room.
Our package included a cheese package which they put in the room in the afternoon. When we arrived at night the cheese was melted.
Overall the hotel is old and needs a massive upgrade to justify any stars. The breakfast room has an amazing Harbour view but the room and furniture looks like in the 80s.

Our second holiday this year to this wonderful resort. Service and facilities again outstanding as they have been for many years. The breakfast buffet managed by the fabulous Angela is excellent. Angela and the rest of the staff always make our visit so special. Thank you so very much. Have already booked again for a pre Xmas getaway.
