Such a cool spot. A warm and welcoming atmosphere with some oustanding beer.
Benny’s handmade paddles are a great way to try a selection of expertly crafted beers.
His knowledge around the beers is well worth a conversation also!

Lucky to have this on my doorstep, would highly recommend others to visit!

Awesome brewery and taproom doing the Illawarra proud. Fabulous barrel aged beers that have been thoughtfully created and given the proper time and respect they deserve. The warehouse has been creatively designed to provide an intimate space to enjoy all their offerings.
Benny works the bar brilliantly, offering excellent advice and knowledge.
A homage to slowing down, doing things right and enjoying artisanal crafts at their very best.

Excellent venue for a variety of drinks. We tried some of the 12+ beers on tap served on a paddle. Mexican food truck nearby with great tacos, burritos and more.

Superb aged beers. The Apricot Saison was a standout, hence the takeaway for later; however all of the beers I tried were delicious. Amazing venue and great customer service.

If you're a natural wines person, a pet-nat person, an orange wine person, a love-the-idea-of-a-sour-but-get-disappointed-often person, you'll love their brews. Tilly Devine stocks their amazing brew, so that speaks for itself. We just got a mixed case delivered and have almost polished it off already, at record speed!
Thanks guys.
P.S. the opposite of this statement is if you're a tooheys/super dry fan this may not be your vibe, but I recommend everyone gives them a go anyway.

I came to check out Barrel Shepherd on Saturday night and it was excellent! It’s a cosy little brewery project offering some amazing barrel aged beers, each one perfectly balanced with its own unique flavour.

If you love Belgian-style sours and appreciate a well-made beer, would highly recommend visiting Barrel Shepherd.
