This a great recharge spot. The Big Bogan is a place to stop and read about the story of the town. Make sure to check the bog river out also and read about the flood levels

Well its big thats for sure, it's a nice rest spot in Nyngan where you can park and take in the main street and also sea little bit of history of Nyngan with the wagon and stage coach on display.

Can't travel through Nyngan without stopping at the Big Bogan! Part of the Australian big things, it makes a great photo opportunity, even when dark thanks to the well positioned street light right in front.

For those that don't know, the word BOGAN in Australia and New Zealand means slang for someone who is quite basic in speech, clothing attitude and behaviour.

Typical Aussie humour, to take the name of the river, which is now a slang term and put it right in your face. Hilarious and loved Rusty the dog. Don't be fooled by the smaller big bogans around the town. Nice town friendly helpful people. Worth a visit to the area rather than driving through.

The BIG BOGAN is a funny and unique stop if you’re on the road in this part of Australia. It’s exactly what you’d expect—a giant statue of a bogan with a fishing rod. It’s not a place you’d spend a lot of time at, but it’s perfect for a quick photo and a laugh. The area is well-kept, and there’s enough parking nearby. Definitely worth a look if you’re passing by and appreciate the lighter side of Aussie culture.

Nyngan is a really lovely country town. We stayed at the caravan park by the river, and really enjoyed our stay. We had dinner at the club in town, and enjoyed a tasty and plentiful meal.
The visitor information centre and museum were closed for renovations, but we plan on going back, so look forward to going through the museum then.
