Yet another reason the Tech Doctor is and will always be my IT guy. Hand on heart, the Tech Doctor is the best there is.

I made no effort to choked back tears as my normally unaffectionate son pulled me into a bear hug and said, “thank you!, Dad,” in a way that felt like, “I love you, happy birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Yes, I do!, It’s a boy, It’s a girl, I love you, I love you, I love you,” as the words landed upon my ears.

Like me, my son is neuro-divergent or ASD, so this uncharacteristically affectionate articulation of gratitude moved so me profoundly, that ripples from the experience still rise up and crash over me unexpectedly, causing my eyes to leak uncontrollably.

It is a ‘moment’ in my story that shines a little more brightly than the others, and one that I’ll treasure the rest of my days. I’m tearing up at the memory of it now. It may have been my son’s birthday, but I got the greasiest gift ever.

And that’s saying something, because my son’s gift is a breathtaking masterpiece we call ‘Beast.’

“OK. Build best in breed… …Go hard, whatever,” I wrote, handing the Tech Doctor a blank cheque, and tasking him with designing, constructing and delivering a bespoke gaming computer in time for my son’s 14th birthday.

“…leave it with me,” Scott said.

“Already did. Lol. I got a guy for that…”

Finding Scott Weaver, aka the Tech Doctor, years ago, was like dropping a heavy burden, forever. My ongoing IT problems are now an elegant IT solution, ‘just call my guy.’

Even after moving from Queensland to Tasmania, our IT solution has never, ever faltered, and he always delivers the goods with absolute aplomb; unlike my very soon to be former courier who shall remain nameless, cough - fedEx (you asshats!) who twice skipped the ‘3 HOUR Pick Up window’ required for my expedited “Time Critical - Technology Shipping” parcel necessitating my IT guy to haemorrhage an additional 2.5 hours of his valuable time driving to your nearest local depot in the 11th hour to ensure a young man’s birthday gift arrived in time is just, well - again, asshats - nasty letter to follow.

The words “thank you,” fall well short of the mark Scott.

Saying you’ve ‘gone above and beyond,’ ‘exceeded all expectations’ and ‘crystallised an already rock-solid relationship,’ is the proverbial tip of the iceberg.

I hope that the warmth of my son’s embrace and echos of his gratitude can be felt down in Tassie. I owe you more than one, Scott! You are my IT guy forever and ever.

Scott helped me out on very short notice after my PC’s power component suddenly blew up. He was able to fit me in the same day my computer had broken to swiftly diagnose the problem and replace the faulty part. After replacing the component, he even took the time to carefully tidy up my cables and provided valuable advice on maintaining my PC.

As a student, Scott’s mobile business model is amazingly accessible, and is offered at a great price! I highly recommend his service to students who are not able to bring their machines into a physical store.

I will definitely be relying on Scott for any future repairs, and possible upgrades to my machine. 🙂

Had an issue with my business computer deciding to take a break from duties , called Scott and was lucky enough to catch him between jobs and he came and fixed the issue within 30 minutes. He also upgraded our hard drive and supplied an external hard drive I asked for . Will certainly be engaging him for a custom built computer when it’s time to upgrade.
