We selected Thompson Building works for a large elevated, covered external living area/balcony and a dual garage door replacement to a single. The build was relatively complex and took approximately six months from start to completion. From the initial consultation with Reuben, we knew we had selected the right builder for the project. Before any contracts were presented, Reuben spent a considerable amount of time reviewing the plans/engineering and worked with us to suggest alterations, to ensure we would be happy with the outcome. Likewise, he presented various material options. We are delighted with the result. The process was non stressful due to Reuben’s excellent communication skills. As we were remote and our home was mostly uninhabitable, Reuben would provide regular updates, photos and every few weeks we had onsite meetings to review progress. We came in under budget due to some up-front agreed variations. I highly recommend Reuben and Thompson Building works.

Reuben Thompson went above and beyond to please throughout the difficult major renovation including the bathroom and kitchen, of my 50 year old unit. Communication was excellent at all times. We purchased an older property with a view to renovate the interior including some structural reconfiguration. After sourcing a number of quotes we entrusted Reuben to carry out the works It was a decision that hasn't disappointed. The works have been completed on time and to budget. We contracted Reuben and Lawson to build an extension, a self contained granny flat, attached to our existing property. Reuben helped us refine our plan, considering existing limitations, provided innovative solutions to solve problems within our budget. Reuben helped with the design of our pool and bbq area, and timed the pools arrival to coincide with other trades necessary for install.
Reuben and Lawson went above and beyond to meet deadlines whilst managing supply constraints and sub-contractors for detail work after Reuben sustained an injury.
It is clear he is hard working, ethical and well respected in the industry, as he was able to rally trades to assist and continue building to meet timeframes, being on site every day and managing logistics, overseeing trades and still providing training to apprentices. We would not hesitate to recommend Reuben and his team, his work is impeccable, he kept us informed through the whole process, managed important relationships with honesty and respect and difficult situations with good humour.
Our parents have been residing in the granny flat for 4 months with no issue and absolutely love the space.
