If there was a zero star option they'd get it. Never come across a business that's so incompetent no one seemed to know what they were doing. I personally went in and drew up the sizes of steel I wanted cut out, they still got it wrong on the quote so I emailed them with the correct sizes. Waited 2 weeks to pick it up and they couldn't even fix the minor issue on the spot for me, told me I will have to wait another 2 days to fix it. Never going back there again

This place used to be good but when infrabuild bought them it went downhill to rock bottom. Even alot of their long term sales staff left. I used to spend tens of thousands of $$ here but after a dispute over a $120 delivery (which they delivered to the wrong address even when they had written instructions) I switched steel suppliers. When confronting the arrogant new manager about how this company was going down hill he couldn't of cared less....
Orrcon is way better people, go there.

If 0 stars would be an option this place would win. Absolutely no urgency, no empathy and no understanding of timelines. Makes a promise and then 2 seconds later recoils it and claims they never said that. Shame that a business would exist with this level of CS. Surely that’s not in their mission statement right?

Buying steel from Tonkin Cairns became such an ordeal I ended up going with another company.
No one answers the phones. Tried several times over a couple of days to pay for my order.
Emails are very rarely answered.
Staff did not seem to know their product.
Do yourself a favour and use a company like Southern.
I was trying for over a week to
organise steel to be paid for and delivered with Tonkin.
Southern did the transaction and organised delivery within less than a business day.
Tonkin just don't care about the little guy, but heaven knows how much revenue they have lost from not answering their phones.
