Fabulous! Loved it from the first step out of the lift. What a beautifully designed space on a rooftop in Brisbane.
The beer was great and we tested quite a few! Food was delicious, we had the beef croquettes, arancini balls, and squid. Music was loud but fun, and the place was packed! Glad we booked a table!

Really enjoyed our afternoon at Valley Hops Brewing. Accessed from ground level Cloudland via lift. Large open and pergola-ed roof top beer garden styled venue. Selection of craft beers, a lot of seating sections and options. There were a lot of reserved tables, so might be an idea to book ahead. Definitely somewhere I would take visitors to Brisbane and the Valley.

We chose to step into Valley hops brewery for a rooftop ambience on our one day we were spending in BrisVegas. We were hoping for a quick lunch at a lovely rooftop brewery. The ambiance in the rooftop was lovely. It was spacious with lots of greenery. However, there was only one bartender working in the bar with a big rush of lunch time visitors. So, when we ordered our food we ended up having to wait almost an hour for one sandwich to come out to our table. They were clearly understaffed and needed some extra help. The waitstaff was accommodating and apologetic when we let them know our order had taken an hour. I would also say it was a stretch to call what I was served a sandwich when it was clearly a pizza folded in half.

Killer venue. Rooftop in the afternoon with the sun peering over was just lovely. Plenty of beer options to choose from (obviously, it’s a brewery). I had heard the wood oven pizzas are a big hit but when reviewing the menu none of them jumped out at me. I settled on the steak sandwich and was very pleased. It’s made on a focaccia style bread and had a real American vibe with the cheese and jalapeños. It’s not something I would typically get but was very happy with my choice. I was staying in the CBD but was only a 20 minute walk here which was nice. Caught up with a friend who got the burger and was also very happy with his choice. Awesome venue and definitely worth a visit!

Bit of a Let Down.

I was excited to come try this place as I love a good brewery, even better one with a good pizza oven. But unfortunately I was left a bit disappointed. Up first was arriving and find staff clearing a table we wanted to sit at. No problem at all, but the staff didn’t come back to wipe the table down, so even though we didn’t sit at a table full of dishes, we instead got to sit at a table full of crumbs and pizza that had been stomped into the ground. That’s fine though I thought, it’s a Friday, I’m trying not to be pedantic.

Went to grab a beer and I felt like the staff pouring my beer was acting like I’d harmed a member of his family. Again I know it’s busy, but a little light chit chat or even maybe a smile would’ve been nice. Oh well.

I let my partner order and didn’t realise that the calamari was $19, again totally fine I guess in this day and age but if it’s going to be priced elevated from the fish and chip shop, then maybe I thought the taste would be elevated too. Batter barely was able to cling to the 6 or so pieces we got, and the internal flavour was a bit lackluster. Kind of tasted like nothing.

We then got served our pizza and well that helped. It definitely added a star to the review but also at the same time, they really overdid it on the rosemary. I won’t fault them for that as different staff can cause different flavours. A good baseline taste was there so thank god.

The problem was that we asked the staff member who served us for some share plates. He blithely agreed, disappeared, and then just stood at the counter. It’s fair that he may have forgotten and again I get it, busy Fridays, but also it’s not that shocking that Fridays may be busy. Maybe we can get the staff who can handle it to work the more busier shifts. Pizza was also incredibly oily. Weird for a pizza cooked in a pizza oven.

The wait staff who cleared our plates at the end could barely muster a word. I’m not one to expect anything, but to be given nothing was a bit shocking. He looked like he’d just processed some internal trauma.

Overall I’d still recommend this place for the ambience and as a brewery I’m sure there’s a good host of beer flavours for everyone. But I’d say it’s more of a place to get the piss up with your other white collar worker mates than to go and have a nice little valley experience. Not sure why I thought it would be like that to begin with.

It was my first time at Hops Brewing. First impressions of the roof top bar was Wow what an amazing place. A beautiful looking venue with a great view of the city.

However two stars were given for the food, service and drinks.

I ordered a pizza see picture - no care in creating in what so ever, toppings were not evenly distributed at all - not very inviting and took 45minutes to arrive. Base was soft too - for $33 I expected a lot better.

In terms of the bar, despite having bar staff - every cocktail was pre mixed - definitely not what I expect from a fortitude valley night spot.

Won’t be in a hurry to go back.

Sisters birthday was celebrated here and the rooftop bar had a fantastic atmosphere and service was great. Live music then DJ, music could have varied in genre not just house and more alcohol choices need to be added for more cocktail varieties. Overall, it was amazing my sister had a lovely time celebrating with friends and family.
