Vantage Apartments - Rivervale, Western Australia

We have lived in 4 different apartment complexes over the last 7 years, Vantage has been by far the most disappointing. I myself am a 22 year veteran licensed Real estate agent and I have never seen such a poorly managed facility. This is not a reflection on Mo the building manager his hands are seemingly tied by the strata management company.

We have never experienced so many malfunctions such as pool, spa, theatre room, lifts and security gates breaking down almost regularly. When we moved to Vantage (Riversdale roadside) our intention was to stay for years. Unfortunately we have decided to move on less than 12 months into our tenancy.

Pool

Heated pool and spa have been unserviceable for 4 months. The spa has regularly broken down previous to that so I would estimate we’ve enjoyed the spa for less than half the time we’ve rented here.

Theatre room

Theatre room vandalised to unserviceable condition but no action taken by management for months.(Doesn’t matter how you cut this it is unacceptable to be left out of service for so long (2 months & still down at the time of this review, Building insurance should cover this almost immediately)

Security

We have never had property theft but experienced two lots of property theft including vehicle break-in. I can confirm that the reports you read on Google of many break-ins to vehicles are in fact true. I will never understand the decision made to allow security gates to be left open for hours on end morning and afternoon to save on wear and tear to gates.

The mail room has been broken into several times as such I would recommend having parcels sent to parcel locker or post office.

Lifts

In less than 12 months one lift has been unserviceable for at least 2 weeks at least 3 times. As there are over 200 units in the complex this has a significant impact on travel times when leaving or coming home.

It’s not all bad here, when things are working it’s a very a nice residence with amazing facilities. The rooftop barbecue area is awesome with amazing views ideal for family gatherings (note starta rules stringently limit how many guests you can have over, this includes pool & other common areas) rooftop bbq area is on the 13th floor and no toilet facilities is ridiculous. The common area lounge on ground floor has a kitchen with oven overlooking the pool and river. It is awesome for entertaining….

Social aspect

We have made some lasting friendships and had some amazing impromptu gatherings. The coo is great, approachable they even put on Australia Day festivities.

In conclusion my highest recommendation is that if you decide to live here remember that you have more than 200 neighbours and you really do need to practice a great deal of patience. If this is not in your make up then Vantage is not for you.

Don’t expect to get treated fairly if you are a renter here. We’ve had numerous issues since moving in. Apparently it’s fine for some to leave things in car bays, whilst others get threatened with fines. Also don’t expect to keep your belongings if left unattended for an hour. Things go missing constantly. It’s genuinely scary. Feel sorry for the genuinely lovely people who live here. But this isn’t a place to ever call home.

Worst place I’ve ever stayed in. Treated poorly and building manger and management do not care about their residents or owners. Car broken into multiple times and everything here is always broken. Threats from fines, parking fines even at 1am, laziness to check CCTV footage of breakins, threats for other people’s plumbing. DO NOT RENT OR BUY HERE!

Very poor communicators, always very evasive, when they eventually decide to respond to an email, (allow two to three weeks for an answer) and never give a direct response. Gave them a deposit in May 2015 still nothing to show for it . They had lots of problems getting finance. Recommendation - don't consider them, if you do be prepared for delays.

Terrible building management. Everything keeps breaking and the turn around to fix it is stupidly long.

I'm glad i rented it before i commit to buy it.

I strongly recommend to stay away of this building and invest your money elsewhere.
