We have a cottage near Mary's Island and LOVE LOVE our time in God's country. There's no other place like the 1000 Islands anywhere!

The fishing is amazing since the water is crystal clear and you see your soon to be caught fish take the bait! The sunsets are remarkable and the overall serenity can't be beat!!!

Oh, and don't forget to visit the Amish farms for the best organic produce ever! I bought a case of 40 medium sized tomatoes for $12!! I canned them and made Holly's Hot Stuff (aka hot sauce) and diced tomatoes. One last thing, you can buy a dozen ears of the sweetest corn on the cob around for $5!!!

Really unexpected beauty... Traveled to Wellesley Island and spotted a lighthouse leaking through the amazing homes tucked along the waterfront. A lovely time enjoying the fall foliage, water views, and fall freeze. Sneak over and visit the area, refreshing and therapeutic drive! I loved stopping at the tiny library as well... sweet area to visit!

We went here to see the river from the USA side. Amazing views. The restrooms for the campgrounds and at the visitor center were clean. The trails are well maintained and marked. The staff were wonderful. The interactive activities were able to teach both adults and children. There are great playgrounds and geocaches.

We stayed at the State Park and it was very nice! We enjoyed the beauty, fun, and making family memories. Great playground, store on site, beach, arcade, laundry room! Make sure to secure all food bins and coolers! The racoons are very determined, stole a lightweight backpack cooler and we never found it and got into 2 different coolers. Also know that you have to pay a toll to exit the island. If you plan on leaving often I believe that there is a discount card you can buy.

STAY AWAY... I love this place and I hate crowds so you need to stay away from the clean water, friendly people, reasonable priced amenities and beautiful scenery. ESPECIALLY stay away from the river views.
