This place was the nicest place we have camped in awhile
Very clean place
Showers were excellent
Water pressure was amazing like a private massage

Never heard of Wondai before but on the road from Birdsville to the coast discovered a great little timber town offering a lovely stopover. The Showground campground is a bargain. Amenities were spotless and well maintained. Water, power, campsite at 20 bucks a night. Walk down for dinner at the beautifully renovated Wondai Hotel which offered tucker way above standard pub fare. Loved waking up to the sound of horses doing their trackwork on a foggy winter morning.

A great spot to camp particularly if your doing the rail trail. $10 to camp have a shower in clean facilities and a safe enviroment.

Very nice showground camping. Separate toilet block but shower block is set up as ensuites including toilet in the shower room.
New friendly caretakers. Short walk to shops.
Horse being trained each morning.
